Olivia and the Lost Butterfly

Olivia was a curious girl with bright red hair and a big smile. She loved exploring the woods behind her house. Every day after school, she would put on her backpack and head outside to look for adventures.

One afternoon, Olivia was walking through the woods when she heard a soft, muffled sound. She looked around and saw a beautiful orange and black butterfly caught in a spider's web. Its wings were tangled, and it could not fly away.

"Don't worry, little butterfly," Olivia said gently. "I will help you."

Olivia carefully walked closer to the web. She was very slow and careful so she would not scare the butterfly. She reached out slowly and began to untangle the delicate wings. The butterfly trembled as Olivia worked.

Finally, the butterfly was free! It flew up into the air and circled around Olivia's head three times. Olivia giggled with joy. She felt happy that she could help.

"Thank you for saving me," the butterfly seemed to say with its dance. Olivia understood what the butterfly meant, even though it could not speak in words.

From that day on, Olivia visited the same spot in the woods every afternoon. She would sit on a big rock and wait. The butterfly always came to visit her. It would land on her shoulder and rest for a few minutes. Olivia felt like she had made a special friend.

One day, Olivia brought her best friend Marco to the woods. She wanted to show him the butterfly. When they arrived at the rock, the butterfly was not there. Olivia felt disappointed. She looked everywhere, but she could not find it.

"Maybe the butterfly flew off to a new home," Marco said kindly. "Or maybe it is searching for food."

Olivia thought about what Marco said. She realized that even though she could not see the butterfly every day, she was grateful for the days when she could. She smiled and knew that the butterfly would always be special to her, even if they were far apart.
