Luna's Space Adventure

Luna loved stars and planets. One night, she looked through her telescope and saw something amazing. It was a bright light moving across the sky! Luna grabbed her notebook and started writing down everything she saw.

The next morning, Luna told her teacher, Mrs. Chen, about the light. "That sounds like a meteor!" said Mrs. Chen. She showed Luna a picture of a meteor in a book. Luna learned that meteors are rocks from space that fall toward Earth. When they fall really fast, they get hot and glow like a bright light in the sky.

Luna became very interested in space. She read three books about planets. She learned that Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Venus is the hottest planet. Earth is where we live, and Mars is called the Red Planet because it looks red.

The next week, Luna's class went to the planetarium. A planetarium is a special building where you can see a show about space on the ceiling. Luna sat down in a big, comfortable seat and looked up. Suddenly, the lights went dark, and stars appeared all around her. It felt like she was floating in space! The show taught her about constellations—groups of stars that make shapes like animals and objects.

After the planetarium trip, Luna made her own constellation map. She drew stars and connected them with lines to make pictures. She showed her map to her classmates, and they thought it was wonderful. Luna felt proud of her work and decided that she wanted to be an astronomer when she grew up.
